Privacy policy
This site collects as little as it can. Here is what does get processed, by whom, and what you can ask for.

Who runs this site
buildappswithdave.com is run by David Nguyen, based in Prague, Czech Republic. For anything about your data, write to dave@buildappswithdave.com.
What this site collects
Anonymous visitor statistics, described below, and nothing else. There are no tracking pixels, no forms and no cookies set by this site. The one thing it remembers is your answer to the video cookie question on the /watch page, kept in your own browser. The cookie policy has the details.
Visitor statistics
To see how many people visit, which pages they read and how many click to book a call, the site uses Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. For each page view it records the page, the site that sent you, your country and region, and your browser, operating system and device type. To count visitors, it works out an anonymous code from the request that is deleted after 24 hours; your IP address isn’t stored with the statistics, and they can’t be used to identify you or follow you to other sites. I only ever see totals. This is in the legitimate interest of understanding how the site is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and runs under Vercel’s Web Analytics privacy terms.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical data to deliver pages and protect against abuse: your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is in the legitimate interest of running a working, secure site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Vercel keeps these logs for a limited period under its own privacy notice.
The video on /watch
The video is hosted by Loom, part of Atlassian. Nothing from Loom loads until you agree to its cookies and press play. From then on, Loom sets its own cookies and collects data about the playback, under the Atlassian privacy policy. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time on the cookie policy page.
Booking a call
The “Get a free prototype” buttons open a booking page on Cal.com, passing through a short page here that counts the click in the visitor statistics. When you book, Cal.com processes the details you enter (such as your name, email and any notes) and passes them to me so the call can happen. This is a step you ask for before any agreement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Cal.com handles the data under its own privacy policy.
If you write to me, your message and address are stored in my mailbox, which runs on Google Workspace under the Google privacy policy. I use them to reply and, if we work together, to run the project.
How long I keep it
Emails and booking details are kept only as long as needed to reply, hold the call and, if we work together, for the project and any records the law requires me to keep. You can ask me to delete them sooner.
Data outside the EU
Vercel, Loom, Cal.com and Google may process data outside the European Union, including in the United States. They rely on recognised safeguards for this, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Links to other sites
The LinkedIn and Instagram links take you to those platforms, where their own privacy policies apply.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask me to:
- tell you what data I hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct it, or delete it;
- restrict how it is used, or object to its use;
- hand it over in a portable format.
Where something relies on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to dave@buildappswithdave.com and I’ll answer within a month. You also have the right to complain to the Czech data protection authority, the Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů.
Changes
If what the site does with data changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves.
